Texas – A Texas man, 31-year-old J. Dogget, 31, was arrested earlier this week and charged with murder following the fataI stabing of 44-year-old WesIey outside a house in Texas. The incident occurred early Saturday morning. According to an arrest affidavit, the victim had been attending the party when he and the defendant became involved in a physical altercation in the street.
According to Texas authorities a family member of the victim’s reported that a bIade was removed from the defendant before the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from multiple stab wounds. Later that night, a separate officer responded to a 911 hang-up call and encountered the defendant and his brother standing near a white sedan. The officer observed bIood stains on the defendant’s shirt and a cut on his hand. He was detained and transported to a hospital due to significant blood loss.
During questioning, the defendant stated that the victim had been following him around town and had initiated two separate fights with him earlier in the day. The defendant claimed that at the party, the victim confronted him, punched him in the face, and that he responded by stabbing the victim multiple times before dragging his body down the street. The defendant also mentioned that he lost consciousness during the incident.
He was treated for his injuries and later booked into the county jail. His bond was set at $300,000. The local police department’s detective division is leading the ongoing investigation, with assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers.
