Mom claims she asked a friend to watch her child after her 3-year-old son was found sleeping on her doorstep by neighbors, having been left alone for hours while the parent underwent aesthetic surgery

Jacksonville, FL – According to the police officials, the 25-year-old parent, later identified as Jesica, was taken into custody and later charged with child neglect after she reportedly left her 3-year-old child alone for nearly seven hours while she was having a c0smetic procedure. The responding officers discovered that the child was found sleeping on the doorstep.
The investigation process began at the end of June after the woman’s neighbors called 911 and told the dispatcher that a little boy, who was not identified due to his age, was found walking around all by himself for hours. The responding officers made contact with the boy, who was unharmed. The responding officers then started going through door to door, in a bid to find the child’s mom.
The woman was found mile away from her child, at a clinic. The mother, who reportedly left her child all alone for nearly seven hours, was reportedly undergoing c0smetic procedure at the location. During an interview with investigators, the woman reportedly told the officers that she had asked a friend to watch her son, but that friend denied he was ever asked to babysit.
During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the child walked out of the rented apartment several hours before he was found. The woman left the child all by himself around 10 in the morning and when the officers found the child, it was around 5 p.m. The mother reportedly has a hearing set for September 24 and a trial date of December 2, court records say.
