Eugene Springfield Fire crews assisted Lane Fire Authority with Santa Clara house fire

Eugene, OR – Eugene Springfield Fire (ESF) provided automatic aid to Lane Fire Authority for a structure fire in the Santa Clara area early Monday morning.
Firefighters responded to reports of multiple explosions and a fully involved house fire in the 200 block of River Loop 2 at approximately 1:30 a.m.
The first crew to arrive, operating Ladder 11 from ESF’s Santa Clara station, entered the burning home to conduct a search.
However, due to extreme heat and the advanced stage of the fire, firefighters transitioned to a defensive operation before completing the search.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Lane Fire Authority will provide further updates as additional information becomes available.
