ESF crews respond to fire that damages cell tower and equipment in east Eugene

Eugene, OR – According to the Eugene Springfield Fire officials, this incident occurred at Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and Garden Way in East Eugene.
On Tuesday at 8:26 PM, Eugene Springfield Fire was dispatched to a brush fire at the location.
Upon arrival, the crews discovered bushes, equipment, and debris burning in and around a cell tower enclosure.
The fire caused an undetermined level of damage to the tower and its equipment, which is currently being assessed by the tower owners.
This incident remains under investigation.
