ESF crews respond to electrical fire in vault near PeaceHealth University District Hospital
Eugene, OR – On January 31st, just before 8:30 PM, Eugene Springfield Fire and Eugene Police responded to an electrical fire in a vault near the PeaceHealth University District Hospital at 13th and Hilyard in downtown Eugene.
Reports indicated a large explosion, but no active fire was found at the scene.
Upon arrival, crews isolated the area and confirmed there was no ongoing fire.
The vicinity was closed off to pedestrian and vehicle traffic until the Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) arrived to address the issue.
