City of Eugene funds lighting improvements for downtown alleys
Eugene, OR – The City of Eugene announced that grant funding from urban renewal funds has been provided to Downtown Eugene, Inc. to install lighting in several downtown alleys.
The initiative supports the city’s strategic plan goal to enhance the vibrancy, economic vitality, and safety of the downtown area.
Officials reported that lighting improvements have been completed for the alley beside the US Bank Building, while work near the Broadway Commerce Center is nearing completion.
Early results show that thoughtful lighting can significantly improve both safety and the overall atmosphere of the downtown alleys.
