Eugene Post is a nonprofit news organization that covers Eugene, OR and the other local neighborhoods. All editorial decisions are made by its founder, Travis Hoyt.

Eugene Post covers stories that are important to the people who live and work in Eugene, on topics such as education, public safety, environment, recreation, employment and youth development.

Eugene Post retains full authority over editorial content to protect the best journalistic and business interests of our organization. Acceptance of financial support does not constitute implied or actual endorsement of donors or their products, services or opinions.

We accept gifts, grants and sponsorships from individuals and organizations for the general support of our activities, but our news judgments are made independently and not on the basis of donor support.

Eugene Post may consider donations to support the coverage of particular topics, but our organization maintains editorial control of the coverage. We will cede no right of review or influence of editorial content, nor of unauthorized distribution of editorial content.

Eugene Post will make public all donors who give a total of $5,000 or more per year. We will accept anonymous donations for general support only if it is clear that sufficient safeguards have been put into place that the expenditure of that donation is made independently by our organization and in compliance with all standards.

Eugene Post is an online community information service that connects people to local information and ideas within the Eugene region. We work with librarians and community organizations to aggregate and organize local news, resources, data and historical archives from a variety of sources. We seek to engage citizens and educate community leaders regarding the value of local information for decision-making, with the goal of enhancing the quality of life in our communities.

Our Vision

Knowledge enhances the capacity of individuals and communities to meet challenges and opportunities.

Our Mission

By making objective, relevant and timely information available, the Eugene Post empower individuals, families, and organizations to build stronger and more prosperous communities.

In addition to our core activity of providing local content online, we provide a limited amount of free technical assistance and training to local nonprofits, government, researchers, and community organizations, as well as to the general public. We are also available on a fee-for-service basis to consult on larger data projects, report writing, needs assessments, and assistance with grant proposals or reports.
