Single-vehicle fatal crash on I-105 under investigation after rollover collision, Eugene Police say
Eugene, OR – The Eugene Police Department is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Friday morning on Interstate 105.
According to police, Eugene Police and Eugene Springfield Fire responded at approximately 6:56 a.m. on May 23 to a rollover crash on I-105 eastbound between I-5 and Coburg Road.
Authorities said the involved vehicle, a GMC Jimmy, left the roadway and struck a large fir tree head-on.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Eugene Police Major Collision Investigation Team responded to the scene and is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
