Crews respond to house fire in west Eugene, prevent spread to neighboring homes
																								
												
												
											Eugene, OR – On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Eugene Springfield Fire (ESF) crews were dispatched to a reported house fire in the 1900 block of 12th Avenue in west Eugene.
Engine 2 from the Whitaker station arrived on scene within four minutes to find heavy fire emanating from a carport and garage area.
Battalion Chief Ed Meyer reported that the fire was fully involved on the right side of the house, with flames threatening an adjacent home.
Crews worked swiftly to prevent the fire from spreading to the primary residence and neighboring properties.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no injuries have been reported. Residents are advised to avoid the area as crews continue to monitor the situation.
