Motorcyclist dies in crash during memorial ride on River Road in Eugene

Eugene, OR – A motorcyclist participating in a memorial ride was killed in a crash with a vehicle on the morning of March 29 in Eugene. The Eugene Police Major Collision Investigation team is handling the case.
The crash occurred around 10 a.m. near the intersection of River Road and Irvington. The motorcyclist, identified as 42-year-old Brandon Allen Goodeve of Springfield, was part of a group that had just departed from the American Legion on River Road when the collision took place.
Authorities initially withheld the motorcyclist’s name to allow time for family notifications.
During the on-scene investigation, northbound River Road was fully closed, while one lane remained open on the southbound side. Both directions of Irvington were also blocked. All lanes were reopened by 2:05 p.m.
The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
