Emergency crews rescue trapped driver after crash at Park and Northwest Expressway
Eugene, OR – Eugene Springfield Fire responded to a motor vehicle accident at Park and Northwest Expressway just after 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The crash involved two vehicles, with one sedan sustaining heavy damage and trapping an occupant inside.
Emergency crews, including one engine, one truck, a Battalion chief, and two ambulances from the Whitaker station, arrived at the scene and began stabilizing the vehicle.
While firefighters provided initial medical care to the trapped driver, a truck company worked to remove the driver’s side door to free the victim.
Once extricated, the patient was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
Officials credited several bystanders, including one from a neighboring fire agency, for providing critical information to 911 that helped first responders act quickly.
The cause of the crash has not been disclosed, and authorities have not provided updates on the victim’s condition.
