Jacksonville, FL – According to the court documents, the 23-year-old defendant, later identified as Adryan, was sentenced to life in prison for his role in the 2020 death of 18-year-old Andrrea. In addition to a life sentence for the murder, the defendant must also serve a 25-year concurrent sentence after jury found him guilty of multiple charges, including: first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and attempted robbery.

During the trial, prosecutors said the defendant and his accomplice made a plan to steal shoes from the victim and her boyfriend while trying them on. The co-defendant, later identified as George, was convicted earlier this year and also sentenced to life in prison. The fatal incident occurred in 2020, court records say. The defendant and his accomplice planned to steal shoes from the victim while trying them on.

According to the court documents, the victim and her boyfriend were trying to sell three pair of shoes for nearly one thousand dollars. During the attempted robbery, the 23-year-old defendant sneaked up on the victim and her boyfriend while both victims were sitting in a car. The defendant then shot both victims. The 18-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her boyfriend was shot in the arm, court records say. The victim, according to her parents, attended the Environmental Research Institute and had been accepted to Florida International University, where she wanted to pursue a nursing degree. Prosecutors said the 18-year-old lost her life while she and her boyfriend, both high school seniors, were trying to sell the sneakers to make some money during the early days of the pandemic.
