Indianapolis, IN – According to the police officials, the 28-year-old dad, later identified as Trlstan, was arrested and later charged with domestic battery, child neglect and other charges after his baby suffered severe injuries. Authorities say the infant’s both arms and legs were broken. The child also had broken ribs and bIeeding from the mouth. But, during an interview with investigators, the father reportedly blamed tight swaddIing and rough dlaper changes for the severe injuries.

The investigation process began in May this year after authorities were called by hospital staff in regards of an infant believed to be a victim of chiId abuse. The responding officers discovered that the child suffered severe injuries. The baby had fractures in both arms and legs, bIeeding mouth and broken ribs. When officers asked the parent about the injuries, he reportedly blamed diaper changes and tight swaddIing.

The victim’s mother reportedly said that her husband was taking care of their baby while she was at work. The doctors told investigators that the baby’s injuries were reportedly caused by ‘forceful yanking, pulling or jerking causes tearing at the end of the bone’. The doctors also told investigators that the child’s injuries could not have been caused by everyday handling of a baby.

Family members, who were not identified, reportedly told investigators that he would let the baby cry continuously while pulling the infant around when changing them. They also stated that the baby’s dad ‘is very mean, short-tempered and yells a lot at the victim when the baby’s mom is not at home’. The 28-year-old man is being held on $150,000 bond. An omnibus hearing was scheduled for Oct. 7, 2024, court records say.
