Fire crews responded to grass fire behind business on West 11th Ave in West Eugene

Eugene, OR – According to the statement, on Sunday afternoon, Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded to a grass fire that broke out behind Auto Craft at 2700 W 11th in West Eugene.
Officials said that the call came in at 4:29 PM on July 7th, reporting smoke visible behind a business on West 11th Ave.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a 30×100 foot area engulfed in flames, which included grass, blackberry bushes, and other debris.
Fortunately, the non-combustible fencing behind the business played a crucial role in containing the fire and preventing it from spreading further.
The prompt response and effective containment measures ensured that the fire was quickly brought under control, minimizing potential damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by local authorities.
