The Eugene Springfield Fire Department urges proper fireworks disposal after festivities
Eugene, OR – According to the Eugene Springfield Fire Department officials, as the celebrations wind down, the proper disposal of fireworks is crucial to ensure safety.
Used fireworks should be soaked in water before being disposed of in a metal trash can to prevent any accidental fires.
For those with unused fireworks, there is an opportunity to turn them in safely. The Metro Explosives Disposal Unit is hosting an Amnesty event tomorrow.
Residents can bring their unused fireworks to Fire Station 2 in Eugene or Fire Station 3 in Springfield between 9 AM and 4 PM.
This initiative aims to prevent potential hazards associated with improper storage or disposal of fireworks.
Community members are encouraged to take advantage of this event and contribute to maintaining a safe environment post-celebration.
