The Eugene Police Department’s Cold Case Squad remains committed to seeking justice and closure for crime victims, their families, and the Eugene community
Eugene, OR – According to the police officials, one case that continues to be a focal point is the disappearance of Vicki Lynn Hollar.
Hollar was a part-time employee at the Bon Marche department store, previously located at 175 West Broadway.
On the evening of August 20, 1973, after completing her shift, she walked with her supervisor to her car, which was parked near 8th Avenue and Washington Street.
She then drove away in her vehicle, a black 1965 Volkswagen Bug with Illinois license plates GR7738, and was never seen again. Both Vicki and her vehicle have been missing since that day.
Friends and coworkers reported to the police that Vicki was in good spirits and looking forward to being scheduled for full-time work the following week. Despite extensive searches and investigations, neither Vicki nor her car has been found, leaving her case an enduring mystery.
The EPD Cold Case Squad continues to press forward, hopeful that new information or advancements in technology might bring answers.
