The City of Eugene has secured $6 million for infrastructure improvements in the Crow Road area, a move aimed at tackling Eugene’s housing shortage

Eugene, OR – Situated within the city’s urban growth boundary in west Eugene, primarily south of West 11th Avenue and east of Green Hill Road, this initiative is poised to drive positive change in the community.
This funding, obtained during the recent short legislative session, is expected to catalyze significant developments in the region.
The Crow Road project, supplemented by an additional $2.2 million from the City, will focus on enhancing wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.
These enhancements are projected to make the area more appealing to home developers.
The anticipated outcome of this investment is substantial—a potential addition of at least 1,260 new housing units alongside the creation of over 850 jobs within the commercially and industrially zoned properties.
These endeavors aim to provide much-needed housing options and employment opportunities in Eugene.
The decision to prioritize the Crow Road area aligns with Eugene’s proactive approach to address the ongoing housing crisis.
According to a recent study by the State Department of Land Conservation and Development, Eugene leads the state in households burdened by rent.
In response, the city has been diligently exploring various solutions, with a focus on investing in key areas within the urban growth boundary, such as Crow Road, to alleviate housing challenges and foster community growth.
