City of Eugene Cultural Services announced 11 new recipients of the Downtown Program Fund grant for 2024, officials say

Eugene, OR – According to the city officials, the Downtown Program Fund seeks to activate downtown Eugene by transforming public spaces into destinations for arts and culture that support the vibrancy, economic vitality and livability of the city.

The fund also supports individuals and organizations that work with themes of identity and belonging to nurture a sense of pride and welcoming in the community.

Up to $5,000 per project will be given to the awardees to produce their own programming and events.

Dozens of applicants were reviewed this year with consideration for their programming quality, capacity, long term impacts and potential to encourage equity, inclusion and diversity.

The following artists and organizations were awarded the grant for 2024:

ArtCity: BEAM BRiGHT Parade and Dance Party
Asian American Council of Oregon: Oregon Asian Night Market
Eugene Cuban Salsa: Latin Dance and Music Festivalito
Eugene Difficult Music Ensemble: Stories from the Unhoused
Global Cultural Commons: ArtsAlive 2024
HIV Alliance: Eugene Pride Block Party and National HIV Testing Day
Kind Tree Productions: Autism Rocks Celebration
Lane Arts Council: Summer First Friday ArtWalks Showcasing Local Music and LGBTQIA+ Artists
Positive Community Kitchen: Cook-off for a Cause
Salseros Productions: Salsa at the Plaza, Live Music and Dancing
Xcape Dance Company: The Come UP! BIPOC Children’s Fest
