Store employee and bystander detain 27-year-old man after firearm theft on Bailey Hill Road

Eugene, OR – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 6 p.m. Saturday evening.
It happened at 1055 Bailey Hill Road.
Eugene Police Department officers responded to the scene after the theft of a firearm.
A man is reported to have arrived on foot and after asking to see a handgun that was for sale, took possession of it to examine it, but fled out the front door with it.
A store employee and a bystander who was in the parking lot, both ran after the suspect, 27-year-old Shawn Foster.
They took Foster to the ground, safely detained him in flex cuffs, and regained possession of the firearm. Police arrived and after investigating, transported Foster to Lane County Jail on charges including Theft in the First Degree, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
