Eugene, OR – According to the ODOT officials, this would be the first in a series of major closures needed while crews build a new, wider overpass with bicycle lanes and wider sidewalks.

State officials also said that the work is part of the OR 217 Auxiliary Lanes Project, which will build auxiliary lanes in both directions of the highway between Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and OR 99W.

The project, scheduled for completion at the end of next year, will mean smoother, safer and more reliable travels along the highway.

Two other major closures, one overnight closure and one weekend closure, will follow later in March.
