Fatal pedestrian-vehicle crash on Beltline Hwy near the I-5 exit, the driver stayed on scene and was cooperative, police say

Eugene, OR – According to the Eugene Police Department officials, the fatal incident occurred right before midnight late Friday night.

It happened on eastbound Beltline Hwy near the I-5 exit.

Eugene Police Department officers and Eugene Springfield Fire Department crews responded to a pedestrian-vehicle crash.

A motorhome’s driver reported they had been driving in the middle lane and hit a person in the roadway.

The pedestrian is deceased and their identity is being withheld until family can be notified.

The motorhome’s driver stayed on scene and was cooperative.

ODOT provided traffic control while EPD’s Major Collision Investigation team responded to the crash to investigate.
