49-year-old man taken into custody following shooting on W. 15th Avenue, no injuries reported

Eugene, OR – According to the police officials, this incident occurred on Saturday. 

It happened inside a residence in the 3300 block of W. 15th Avenue.

Eugene Police Department officers responded to a shooting call.

The responding officers discovered that 49-year-old man, Lamontario Kent, reportedly shot at another man, who fled.

Kent remained inside with his wife. No one appears to have been injured in the shooting.

EPD patrol officers contained the scene and consulted with both SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Team.

The man’s wife exited, and officers were able to get the man’s compliance to come out of the home, where he was taken into custody without incident.

A detective wrote and applied for a search warrant, which was granted by a local judge. During the search, officers recovered a semi-automatic rifle.

Kent was later charged with: Unlawful Use Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and two counts of Recklessly Endangering.
