Northbound I-205 lane reduction and ramp closures start Saturday, Jan. 6 at 9 p.m. and re-open Sunday, Jan. 7 at noon, ODOT officials say
Eugene, OR – According to the statement, starting from Saturday, Jan. 6 at 9 p.m. to Sunday, Jan. 7, I-205 northbound across the Abernethy Bridge will be reduced to one lane, and the loop on-ramp from OR 43 to northbound I-205 will close along with the off-ramp from northbound I-205 to OR 99E.
ODOT officials also said that drivers will follow signed detours.
These temporary changes are needed for crews to perform concrete pours for new columns that will support an earthquake-ready Abernethy Bridge.
This work was originally planned for mid-December but needed to be rescheduled.
Drivers should plan for delays because only one travel lane will be open to go north across Abernethy Bridge between West Linn and Oregon City.
The overnight timeframe avoids impacts on weekday peak hours, which have higher traffic volumes, but ODOT officials know construction impacts can be inconvenient.
