A suspect has been arrested after a stolen vehicle was spotted at a motel parking lot in Eugene

Eugene, OR – According to the police report, an officer found the Jeep in the 300 block of East Broadway at about 11 p.m. Officers got permission to check a motel room the occupants had reportedly been staying in and “found it littered with syringes and knives.”

The Eugene Police Department has reported that Max Slavit, 21, is accused of stealing the Jeep. Police said he had the key in his possession. Investigators found broken glass in the Jeep as well as a tool used to break windows.

And now, the suspect faces charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle and warrants for the following: two counts of second-degree burglary, three counts of first-degree theft, possession of methamphetamine, second-degree theft, two counts of second-degree criminal mischief, two counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle, third-degree theft, carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of identity theft, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Slavit is also believed to have been in possession of a green Pivot bicycle that may have been stolen but went unreported. If you had a Pivot bike stolen between mid-August and mid-October, contact detectives at 541-682-5376
