Residents of 2 Eugene Long-Term Care Facilities Test Positive For COVID-19
Lane County Public Health learned of 19 more people who have tested positive for COVID-19, including 3 people in local long term care facilities.
“Individuals who had contact with these community members will be contacted by Lane County Public Health so they can work with their health care providers on next steps. Communicable disease investigations are underway,” the county said in a statement. “If a public contact exposure point is identified, that information will be shared with the public.”
The cases include a resident at Green Valley Rehabilitation Health Center, 1735 Adkins St in Eugene; and a resident and a staff member at Waterford Grand Assisted Living and Memory Care, 600 Waterford Way in Eugene.
The county said both facilities are working closely with the health department “and following all recommended public health guidelines.”
The 19 new cases brings the total number of cases here since testing began to 503.
Of those, 52 people remain infectious, the county said.
Five people are hospitalized. To date, 3 people with the virus have died.
As of Friday, at least 40,652 tests have been done for Lane County residents.
